Between dreams and shadows, the Brazilian group “em agosto chove” takes us on an astral journey, in a new single.

The group released on Saturday (17) the single “Que Tudo Destroi”. The song succeeds “Dimetil” and anticipates the album “Ritus Movedissus”. 

Formed at the end of 2019 in Palmas – Brazil, in “em agosto chove” is an alternative rock group that experiments and mixes genres, the result of the influences of its 7 members. With the release of the first album “Ritus Movedissus” scheduled for August, Que Tudo Destrói is a sample of the themes and atmospheres that will be worked on the album.
The song speaks of an astral experience, with its lyrical self wandering through a mystical underworld, between life and death. In this dystopian scenario, he is confronted by discoveries and sensations that challenge his beliefs: Tende pesar / entre o céu minha terra / morte no olhar / que tudo destrói (It has to weigh/between heaven my earth/death in the eyes/that destroys everything”).

With an immersive and ethereal chorus of voices, the track features guitar and piano as main instruments, creating a ghostly atmosphere that features traces of Baleia and Radiohead, the group’s references. With instrumental recorded at home, it was finished in the BlackBird studio by Gabriel Worm, producer and guitarist of the group.

“It’s a song very much focused on an ethereal and astral experience, a kind of contact. It’s as if we listened to the album from far away, as a prelude, a ritual to make it arrive. It’s full of harmony and atmosphere, to really transport” comments Luís “O Alquimista”, who wrote and gives voice to the song.
