| Finalized during the 2020 lockdown and then postponed many times, our debut album “Bubbling” is out today! Like Mawimbi itself, “Bubbling” is a collage of relationships and shared experiences, shaped by nascent friendships and musical encounters. It’s a truly DIY document in that sense, the sound of the last eight years of our adventure: free spirited, passionate, warm and generous. Our album buzzes with the contagious energy of the music we love. Afrobeat, highlife, South African bubblegum pop, Malian music, maloya… We feel immensely grateful for the amazing performances of our featured guest artists who contributed to the making of this record and helped us infuse with some of these influences. “Bubbling” is out on Bandcamp and all major streaming/download platforms. Records will be shipped from July 25.
