Etienne Dorsay – “Jack 23”

Etienne Dorsay, the name taken from one of the most emblematic characters of French cinema in the 1970s, interpreted wonderfully by the ineffable Jean Rochefort, is a French artist in his forties and multi-instrumentalist who has a heavy musical record. A sickly and rather reserved observer in life, he expresses his way of seeing the world through naive melodies and downtempo beats. Eclecticism being his favorite category, Etienne’s universe is vast. Raised on folk guitar, electric bass and a few other phonic curiosities since his youngest adolescence, he subsequently surveyed electro clubs and formed a live duo in the early years 2000 which was a success of esteem but ephemeral. Despite influences from all horizons and a certain penchant for electro, we will especially notice his boundless admiration for dwarves in purple heels, vocodized robots, rockstars with glittery dreadlocks, or even blind and superstitious black singers
