JUNIOR ALMOST RED

Born in 1974. I am a son of art, my father Renato was the bassist of Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, a historic European progressive band; I started playing at five and performing at twelve. Even then I preferred composition to performance, so I intensified my studies of harmony and recording technique. I also earned a diploma in audio techniques from the institute of film and television. At 22, in 1997, I met the two people who changed my life: Carmelo Bene, with whom I discovered my vocation for composing soundtracks and Elisabetta Pozzi, with whom I would get married after a couple of years and who taught me everything … about theater. The artistic partnership with my wife has produced many shows including four melologues taken from Ritsos (Phaedra, Blood Sisters, The tightrope walker and the moon and Elena) and a six-handed monologue with Elisabetta and Massimo Fini: “Cassandra o dell ‘ hoax”. The luck of having learned to play many instruments (Piano and organ, cello, guitar, double bass, clarinet, trumpet, sax, drums, bouzuki, baglamash, oud, flutes …) simplifies my work a lot … I play music, record it in my studio and stage it together with the director. My collection of instruments has over 90 pieces …. I have worked with many directors and many actors … Carmelo Bene (Adelchi, Pentesilea, Leopardi), Luca Ronconi (Peccato was a whore, Fahrenheit 451), Walter Lemoli (Amleto, L’amante), Carmelo Rifici (Fedra, Elettra, Details), Daniele Salvo (Aiace, Summer), Kristof Zanussi (Medea), Gigi Dall’Aglio (As you like it), Francesco Tavassi (Fedra, Maria Stuarda), Leo Muscato (All about my mother), Mauro Avogadro (The woman of the sea, Well-being), Franco Però (Alexandria), Franco Branciaroli (Don Quixote), Piero Maccarinelli (Elettra, Oreste) and many others. I also collaborated with Ivano Fossati and Mario Arcari for “Alice beyond the mirror” and Alberto Iglesias (unfortunately only from a distance) for “All about my Mother”. I also collaborated with Ivano Fossati and Mario Arcari for “Alice beyond the mirror” and Alberto Iglesias (unfortunately only from a distance) for “All about my Mother”. I also translated Fahrenheit 451 from English for Luca Ronconi, as well as having edited the translation and dramaturgy of “Journey to the Center of the Earth” by Giulio Verne. Again in 2012 Summer of Bond directed by Daniele Salvo at the Naples theater festival, La Rosa Bianca for the permanent theater in Bolzano, directed by C. Rifici. In 2013 Yerma by F.G. Lorca, again directed by Carmelo Rifici and then the Marseille festival with “Phedra e les oiseux” directed by J.B. Sastre. In 2013 “Giovanna D’Arco”, directed by Andrea Chiodi and “L’officina”, again directed by Carmelo Rifici. Among the latest productions I fondly remember “The Name of the Rose”, directed by Leo Muscato, “I Persiani” and “Una bestia sulla luna” directed by Andrea Chiodi, “Sons of a minor god” (M. Mattolini), the trilogy of rewritings of the myth Medea – Clytemnestra – Cassandra for theater two in Parma and the beautiful Elena of Ritsos, curated by Andrea Chiodi, also director of the show “Apologia” by 2017 and “Ecuba” of 2019, both for the production of the Brescia theater center. The 2020 soundtrack is instead the soundtrack of “Death of a traveling salesman” with Alessandro Haber, directed by Leo Muscato and “Troiane”, directed by Andrea Chiodi.
