Filled with tongue-in-cheek and introspective wit, “Villain 2.0” by Leanne Gallati is a must listen for fans of upbeat pop rock. In the candid and compelling new track, Gallati looks within and recognizes that she has sometimes been the bad guy in relationships. Her powerhouse vocals, akin to Sammy Rae & the Friends or Lake Street Dive, give the song a sense of soulfulness and strength. In addition to the new earworm of a track, “Villain 2.0” is accompanied by a riveting video, which is set to release on August 26th. “Villain 2.0” is the first offering from the new EP Not Your Type, out this September.
The upcoming EP, Not Your Type, is a celebration of the unique things that set you apart from others. Not Your Type is inspired by the heartbreak and rejection she experienced during her 20’s, but Leanne Gallati puts a positive and confident spin on those feelings. The EP also examines relationships in her life, both romantic and platonic, and explores where both parties have gone wrong. Preaching self acceptance and self awareness, Leanne Gallati’s music creates a safe space for herself and others.
LEANNE GALLATI BIO:
Long Island bred and current Brooklyn resident Leanne Gallati is an emerging star to familiarize yourself with. Gallati studied musical theatre at Rider University, but always felt her style was more geared towards pop rock. With this in mind, her solo music contains a perfect entanglement of pop and theatrical moments. Having various different musical styles under her belt, Gallati decided to pursue a solo career in 2022. Before synthesizing music on her own, Gallati acted as lead vocalist for the funk rock unit Cosmonaut Radio. Artists that definitively shape Gallati’s solo material are Lawrence, and Rubblebucket. In addition to Gallati on vocals, the project is composed of Josh Santiago (guitar), Satoko Mori (keys), Austin Deyo (drums), and Eric Wharton (bass/background vocals).
