Merging traditional brazilian rhythms and poetry, Ana Matielo releases the EP “Clara”

With compositions that bring stories and personal reflections packed by dancing grooves, singer-songwriter Ana Matielo releases today her first EP: “CLARA”, withsongs that trace among trajectories of the author with herself, also addressing ancestry, feminist studies and her everyday experiences. Influenced by traditional Brazilian rhythms: samba, xote and baião, Ana’s warm and crystalline voice sews the arrangements of the album, which features 12 guest musicians: Dessa Ferreira | Dy Ferrandis | Gabriel Mello | Gutcha Ramil | Ìdòwú Akínrúlí | Julia Pianta | Kristal Werner | Lo Valentini | Lucas Rocha | Luciana Prass | Nathalia Boeira | Tamiris Duarte.
Ana sings since she was very young, learning the guitar with her father, who composes traditional music from Rio Grande do Sul. She made hes first composition at age 11 and grew up amidst choral experiences, having participated in Expresso 25 and Grupo UPA! She studied opera singing from the age of 14 to 17, when she entered the Popular Music course. At university, she found a passion for devoting herself to feminist studies and musical composition. She has influences on choral music, Brazilian rhythms and vocal experiments.
