NETSKII Releases “Zadykhayus”: A Cinematic Cry of Betrayal in Symphonic Russian Pop

For us on musicalive.net, the spotlight turns to NETSKII, singer-songwriter and participant in the Broadway Dreams Foundation, who continues shaping his artistic identity with the single “Zadykhayus” (“Can’t Breathe”).

With this release, NETSKII further defines the musical direction he calls Symphonic Russian Pop — a style where cinematic orchestration meets contemporary pop structure.

A Filmic Soundscape

Lightly colored by indie influences, NETSKII’s sound is marked by depth and contrast: tight rhythm sections, cinematic beats with a soft kick, orchestral crescendos, and percussive accents blend with a sensitive yet strained vocal delivery. The result is an atmosphere that feels almost soundtrack-oriented, drawing listeners into the emotional core of the song.

“Zadykhayus” fuses symphonic pop with an alternative edge. Its dramaturgy mirrors the emotional tension of the lyrics: the track is built around the sound of a real heartbeat and the ticking of a clock, gradually rising toward a climactic synth-wave surge. The contrast between quiet, confessional verses and an explosive orchestral chorus reinforces the central emotional conflict — fight or leave.

The Story Behind the Song

Written in Moscow in the winter of 2025, the song was born from the experience of betrayal. It captures the painful moment when someone close no longer loves you — and may even be unfaithful — yet remains by your side “for appearances.”

The suffocation of that situation becomes the song’s core metaphor. In the chorus, NETSKII voices a direct plea: If you see I’m in pain, either fight or leave — don’t stay out of self-interest. It is both vulnerable and confrontational, transforming private heartbreak into a dramatic sonic narrative.

The Creative Team

“Zadykhayus” was developed by a five-person team. The music was written by NETSKII (Alex Kamenetsky) together with Vladislav Tyutyunnik during the Moscow Songwriting Camp 2024. The lyrics were co-written with poet Darya Shtykova. The arrangement was crafted by Evgeny Binkevich, while the final mix and master were handled by Sergey “Kamaz” Komar.

Each contributor added a distinct layer to the track’s identity, helping shape its cinematic and emotionally charged sound.

Among the influences behind this release are the emotional drive of Alekseev and Kodaline, the minimalist airiness of HURTS, the atmospheric tone of BLKVS, and the painful frankness of Sleeping At Last. From these references comes the dynamic interplay between restraint and orchestral explosion that defines the song.

Recording and Milestones

The track was recorded at Dark Side Records in Moscow, a studio known for hosting major Russian artists including Guf. Despite arriving at the studio late and exhausted, NETSKII captured the entire vocal performance in just two or three takes — preserving the raw tension that characterizes the final version.

“Zadykhayus” also marks an important step in his career: it is his first official release under the label Druzhba Music, which approached him after only two prior singles.

Currently focused on studio work, NETSKII is assembling a live lineup and searching for a venue in Moscow for his debut concert. The track has also been submitted to TopHit testing to evaluate its radio potential. Based on feedback suggesting a faster tempo for radio formats, he is preparing remixed versions of his previous singles and compiling the EP “Zadykhayus – Reworked.”

Whatever adjustments are made, he maintains his signature elements: strained vocals, cinematic strings, whisper-like textures, and the sharp contrast between intimacy and orchestral blast.

With stems, instrumentals, and a cappella versions available, the track is ready for sync opportunities — its breakup theme lending itself naturally to dramatic visual storytelling.

As someone once told him: “Everything in your life is only just beginning — take action.” It’s a sentiment that reflects both this release and the next chapter ahead.

“Built on a real heartbeat and the ticking of a clock, ‘Zadykhayus’ transforms betrayal into a cinematic outcry — where intimate confession collides with orchestral force in NETSKII’s Symphonic Russian Pop.” – MusicAlive.net
