Caribbean punk pioneers The Bolokos return with an innovative single: punk rock in Creole! The song is a tribute to Guadeloupean culture and Gwo ka music (endemic music of the island inherited from African heritage during slavery times). The band joins forces with another legendary figure in Caribbean music: Lukuber Séjor, musician, poet, storyteller, and defender of the Creole language. The Creole lyrics serve as a form of resistance and existence because of the increasing anglicization of music in the Caribbean islands. The phrase “Ou lé lé” is very present in Caribbean folklore as a form of communication with ancestors. The song is a cry of love for their native culture.
