Temenik Electric – Sit’N Goulek

Temenik Electric was born in the Algerian desert, from the meeting between Medhi Haddjeri’s rock culture and the sounds of his Algerian roots. The artistic choice of singing in arabic is a real revelation to built with his teammates an original formula: The Arabian Rock. After, the debut album “Ouesh Hada” (L’autre distribution) in 2013, warmly welcomed by critics, Temenik Electric went back in 2015 with a second album “Inch’Allah Baby” (PIAS) which strongly sign this crossroad between rock, tradionnal music from the Maghreb and elecronic sounds. This LP produces at the legendary Real Word Studios (UK) with Justin Adams (Robert Plant, Tinawiren, etc..) allowed the project to earn an international scale. They were prized by “le prix Transatlantique” (Canada) and “le prix ADAMI” before being programmed in major festivals in Europe such as Eurosonic (NDL), Liverpool Sound City (UK), in Africa with Visa For Music (MAR) and obviously in France with Babel Med Music, MaMA Festuval, Bars en Transe,… To reward this artistic career as well as his deep commitment into the spreading of the culture within the region PACA, Mehdi Haddjeri has been raised to the rank of “Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres” in 2017. Before disappearing in studio to create their third LP, Temenik Electric offers un a new video music with ZAKIA which is an opening to a new dimension of its music. They come back in 2020 with a new single “Sit’N Goulek” which announces an upcoming third LP.
