Young Spit – Uwanje

New year, new version of Uwanje! We are excited to introduce “Uwanje” by Artist Young Spit of Era257. Back in 2019, we covered a story on his traditional hit song “Iwacu” —a soft Afro-fusion jam. It is no secret that Young Spit is extremely passionate about his Burundian roots…the song titles are loud and clear. February 15th of 2021, a new and improved version of this hot cake “Uwanje” surfaced the net on different platforms including YouTube. Uwanje is a single on Spit’s Album Era257—but 2021, the stylish gentleman with a mature vintage voice renovated Uwanje with some electric guitars, heavy bouncy beats and a fresh African aesthetic. We peeped he even added new lyrics towards the end of the song. We wanted the usual, and he gave us more than the usual. Well, we are here for it! We admire the efforts and dedication that brought this video to life.

Young Spit is originally from Burundi a landlocked country in east central Africa, bordering Rwanda, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The main languages spoken in the Burundian Republic are Kirundi, French (both official) and Swahili. Niyomwungere Eric (born 13 February 1997), popularly known by his stage name Young Spit, is a Burundian singer and songwriter. In 2016. The singer/rapper released a hit song in his mother tongue, called “Iwacu” —a soft Afro-fusion jam, dedicated to his clothing brand “Era 257. Young Spit’s Sound is a mixture of Afro-fusion ,World Music and Hip Hop. It seems like Young Spit assimilated to the American culture and is simply expressing the experiences that contributed to his growth. We are a product of our environment.
